Name: Graham Baker.
Nickname(s): The Aviator.
Date of Birth: January 15th, 1993
Hometown: London, England.
Heel, Face, or Tweener?: Babyface-leaning-tweener.
Wrestling Style: Technician w/ some springboard/top rope action.
Personality: Headstrong, brash, and takes a beating even if he can't directly dish out one. A true white-meat babyface, he can take a beating and keep fighting, likely suffering a few losses but coming back. Having come up from the Hardcore indie scene, knows his way around a bloody grudge match if necessary. Devoted and resilient, this competitor will fight til the last breath and do what he believes is right.
Strengths: Incredibly resilient, can take a beating and keep kicking, can cut a hell of a promo. 'Never give up' attitude.
Weaknesses: Headstrong, and sometimes rushes into challenges too big for him, can be overconfident and lead to his demise.
Wrestler Pic Base: El Phantasmo
Attire: Long-tights with knee pads and long boots that ride up to the knee-pads in a gunmetal blue color. His left knee has a shark-like design similar to the nosepaint on P-51 Mustang planes from World War II. He wears fingerless gloves and no elbow pads. His entrance attire features a brown leather fur-collar 'bomber jacket' of classic style, his tights, and a pair of aviator glasses.
Theme Song: DNA by Kendrick Lamar
Entrance: Similar staccato of gunshots, followed by Baker emerging from the backstage as the song begins. Baker holds the front of his jacket open, displaying his title (if he has one.) As the song plays, Baker steps down the ramp and slaps hands with a few fans, posing for pictures but keeping his eyes ahead on his opponent. At the second stanza of the song, Baker climbs up on the ropes with his back to the crowd, holding his fingers out like guns before springboarding into the ring and dropping to both knees and aiming his 'guns' at his opponent.
Moveset (list 10 or more common moves):
-Variety of suplexes, including but not limited to German, Exploder, Dragon, Tiger suplexes. Baker can execute most of these in snap, bridging, and top rope variations as well, giving him a ton of methods of attack.
-Variety of dropkicks, including hesitation, jumping, sliding, running, springboard and missile dropkicks. Baker uses dropkicks as transitions moves mostly, or to weaken targeted limbs.
-Variety of knees, including running shotgun knees (to a corner or kneeling opponent), ripcord knees, and jumping knee strikes. Baker uses these when an opponent is too close to use a dropkick.
-Elbow and forearm strikes to the head and chest, to keep opponents away or to break up finishers/holds on himself.
-Powerbombs as a desperation move and not commonly used, occasionally to counter an armbar or continue on the Emergency Landing. Baker most often uses the Buckle Bomb to break up a hold if he needs to.
-Variety of roll-ups to secure a pinfall if no other means can seal the deal. Baker favors the victory roll, a 'rana style rollup, and the small package as his top three, but will use whatever is most easily accessible.
-Various submission maneuvers, primarily armbars and armbreakers in order to weaken the arm targeted for a final Emergency Landing that would seal the deal for the opponent's loss. Baker is not opposed to targeting other limbs and parts in order to slow an opponent down or prevent them from hitting their finisher.
-Dives to the outside, primarily his springboard lariat and missile dropkick, but also suicide dives and suicide spears as desperation moves to keep opponents down at ringside. Baker is not afraid to risk his own health to keep his opponent down for good, but not to a particularly fatal extent.
-Lionsault, although rare and usually used in tandem with the Cartwheel DVD.
-Variety of takedowns, mainly legsweeps and headscissor takedowns to counter moves like powerbombs and counter anything that would put the opponent off-balance.
-While an opponent is trapped in a corner, Baker is not afraid to wear them down with machine gun and knife-edge chops to the chest, or dropkick them further into the buckles. Baker is a fan of using his environment to his advantage, and if he can use the ropes/buckles to cause more damage to his opponent leading up to the finish, then he will.
Signatures:
The Ejection Seat - Inverted Frankensteiner, occasionally done from the top rope.
Anti-Air - Snap German Suplex into a Hesitation Dropkick.
Clipped Wings - Springboard Lariat, sometimes to the outside.
Altitude Sickness - Sleeper hold that Baker usually blends with a Sleeper Slam, throwing his opponent to the ground before locking it in while putting his weight on them so they can't escape.
Landing Gear - Leaping double-stomp, usually targeted to the back, neck, or a limb, also occasionally combined with a stomp to the apron to disable the limb for a submission hold.
Finisher(s) (list 1-3 finishing moves):
The Emergency Landing - A Cross Armbar that Baker considers his master tool, Baker finishes most of his matches with this maneuver. Baker's known for his ability to apply the Emergency Landing out of nearly nowhere.
Mustang Driver - Cartwheel Death Valley Driver, a'la Velveteen Dream. Can be done in an Avalanche Variant as well, Baker's primary impact finisher. The Super Mustang Driver is Baker's endgame finisher, and features him rolling through the Cartwheel portion into a Corkscrew Moonsault into a pinfall. The Super Variant is usually only used for big matches and usually secures a win, as Baker's last resort.
The Ground Zero - Super Finisher - A Buckle Bomb into a Tiger Bomb. Baker's previous super-finisher until it was countered and kicked out of during the Free-1 Final, forcing Baker to adapt the Super Mustang Driver instead. Baker still uses this move from time to time.
Backstory (can include real life companies or other e-feds):
Starting out in the PROGRESS dojo (PROJO) in 2013, Graham Baker was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time and often overlooked by the burgeoning young promotion due to his disparity in skill with his classmates. Baker would figure out quickly that his path would take him elsewhere, and, in a brutal act of betting on himself, left PROGRESS and London to pursue a tour of the United States independent scene. There, he made a name for himself in places such as Combat Zone Wrestling, Rockstar Pro Wrestling, DEFY, and a few appearances in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, which would solidify him as an ace talent in the eyes of the fans.
Baker's appearances would impress certain eyes, and he would be offered contracts in many companies both in and out of the United States, but he rejected these offers to help build something anew in burgeoning promotion Freedom Pro Wrestling. There, after starting on shaky legs, Baker would win the heart of the fans through defeating promotion mainstay MDE, and would later go on to win the promotion's Hardcore title and become the inaugural Free-1 Tournament winner, pictured above. Baker also looks to rekindle his partnership with a man by the name of Zachary Bates, who he teamed with for a short time in his American tenure before the two parted ways.
While Baker considers FPW his home, he looks to expand his horizons further, and explored ALPHA Wrestling as a new option to continue his American growth...
