And just like that, it's over. I'd be lying if I said that I couldn't believe it, the writing's been on the wall for some time now, but it's still sad to see something like this end. As cheesy as it sounds, this was a fairly large part of my life for the last two years . And a large part of that was down to you guys. Even though I joined FPW a year after it's creation, and it seemed like most of you knew each other from somewhere else before that, you guys still welcomed me in and made me feel like a part of the group. And so I wanted to thank you for that. That goes for everyone on this site, but especially to our booker, Mr. Houston/MDE. He was always receptive when I approached him with an idea, and he was super helpful when it came to shaping my character's arcs.
And speaking of my characters, let's talk about them for a moment, since they were probably the most important part of my time here. I had several ideas for what I wanted to see from my characters in the future, some of which I'd already discussed with MDE, some of which I was waiting until it was closer to taking effect. But now that we're here, I might as well tell you guys about my ideas.
Jace Mason
The first thing I would have had Jace do was stay out of the spotlight for a while. It was pointed out earlier this year that Jace had been pushed fairly hard, and I didn't want the character to ever feel stale. So for a while, I wanted Jace to only be involved in matches that didn't revolve around winning titles, and if he did get a title shot, he'd come up short. I imagined this would last at least through 2020, and probably into the first part of 2021 as well. But eventually, Jace would find himself back in the World title picture and would eventually win it, and he'd finally have a title reign that lasted for more than a month. But eventually that title reign would have to come to an end, and when it did, Jace would probably spend some time away from the spotlight again. And after some time, he'd go after the title that made him a star, the Freedom Championship. He'd win it, and then reveal that when he lost that title, that would be his last match in FPW (which is an idea I've totally nicked from someone in PROGRESS, I just can't remember who). And of course, he would have to lose that title, ideally to someone who was in a similar position to him when he won the belt. He'd have one final appearance to say goodbye, and then he'd ride off into the sunset to make his mark on a different part of the wrestling world.
I'm not sure I'll ever bring Jace back in a future E-Fed. Jace was a character that was created out of a very specific mindset, and as I've grown over the last two years, I've left that mindset behind somewhat, and I'm not sure I'd be able to write Jace as effectively again. Between that and the fact that I'm not sure what I'd be able to do with him other than just telling the same story somewhere else, Jace Mason might be forever tied solely with FPW.
The Queendom
I really wanted to focus on the Queendom as a unit going forward, which would lead to them winning the tag team championships, with all three defending under the freebird rule (or whatever the FPW equivalent would be). And then after a decent reign, they would eventually lose the belts, with Thea taking the fall. Thea would take the fall again during the rematch, which would lead to Artemis and Myra turning on her. Thea would spend some time away as Artemis and Myra established themselves as a duo and secured another rematch for the Tag Team titles, only for Thea to return and cost them the match. This would lead to a feud between Thea and the Queendom, with Thea constantly getting in the way of them winning gold. (I had some vague ideas that would take place at a much later date. Artemis would leave FPW for whatever reason, maybe she put her career on the line in a World title match, and with her gone, I could see Thea turning heel and re-forming her partnership with Myra, possibly bringing in someone new to bring the Queendom back to three members.)
If I ever found another E-Fed to participate in, the Queendom would probably be my first characters. Since the split was never written, I feel I could bring them back as a team somewhere else, maybe put the focus on them as a unit from the beginning rather than starting with just Artemis.
The Silent Assassin
The Silent Assassin was an idea that had been floating around in the back of my head for quite some time, and I finally decided to bring him to life earlier this year. But as the Free-1 wound down, I realized that I didn't really have anything for him to do aside from look kind of intimidating. I might bring him back in a future E-fed, but he's far more uncertain than the Queendom.
And now I have a few questions. I might be just a little too late for this, everyone else might have moved on already, but I want to know what you guys thought of my characters. Were they interesting or entertaining? Did I manage to get their personalities across in my promos? I'd love to hear from everyone here before I potentially bring some of these characters to a new E-fed.
I'll probably reply to anyone who answers my questions, but for now, I guess this is goodbye. It really doesn't feel like I've done this final post justice. Like I said before, this was two years of my life, and I don't think I'm able to encapsulate everything that means to me in a single post. Once again, thank you to everyone here for the wonderful time you've given me throughout these past two years. FPW was always something fun, even during rough times. If this had happened a year earlier, I'd be tempted to volunteer to take over as the head booker, but with the way things in my life are going right now, I already barely have the time to devote to my characters, much less running an entire promotion. Maybe it's better that this ended now, so I could give a proper good-bye instead of just being pushed away by outside forces. Anyway, I need to end this now, or I'll just keep rambling. So for one final time, thank you, and farewell. Like MDE said, maybe our paths will cross in some future E-fed.
