FPW shows will be weekly from Sunday 6th September 2020. These shows will either be ‘Freedom Fighter’ shows, a televised weekly two-hour show, or major shows each with their own name. There will be roughly eight major shows each year, with around forty Freedom Fighter shows and the Free-1 taking up the month of August.
Freedom Fighter shows will contain roughly four in-ring segments and roughly three backstage segments. The vast majority of matches will be summarised, while non-match segments will generally be written up in full. Some matches may be written up in full, although this will not happen regularly and will be at the discretion of the booker. Cards will be fully revealed on the promo thread for each show directly after the previous show is posted. Not every character will be on every Freedom Fighter show; the booker will endeavour to not have any active character completely left off two shows in a row. If you feel your character is being underused, please politely bring this up with the booker, who will happily discuss this with you.
Major shows will contain five to ten matches and will be written up in full with matches written by the booker as well as other volunteers. Match times will be determined by the word count of the match, with every hundred words counting as one minute of match-time. These shows will usually also contain backstage segments. Some major shows will focus on tournaments, while others will simply be regular cards. Cards will be revealed throughout the build-up to the major show, and will be finalised at the conclusion of the previous Freedom Fighter show, at which point match details will be sent to writers.
Free-1 shows will be split by block, with each show focussing on a round of block matches in one block, with one of those matches being written up in full and the rest being summarised. These will sometimes feature backstage segments and will sometimes feature non-Free-1 matches. These shows will take place throughout August and will lead to a major show on August 31st with the Free-1 final as well as other matches.
On some shows, your character may face an inactive character. This can be frustrating as there will be no one to build a story with, but it is done for several reasons:
1. To continue an already established story, which began when that character was active, to its conclusion.
2. To give your character an opportunity to further develop.
3. To develop a story between your character and another active character.
Inactive characters may be used in title matches and on major shows, but active characters will generally be given priority over an inactive character for these spots. If you feel your character should have a spot which an inactive character has, the booker will happily explain why the inactive character is in that spot if you politely enquire.
If you find yourself with a match against an inactive character, you have permission to use them in any promo you post providing your post generally fits within the guidelines of their character. If you are unsure whether this is the case, the booker will happily look at the promo and help you with it. If you wish to use another active character in your promos, you must gain permission of the handler listed on that character’s bio before using them. You can, of course, use another character if you are the handler for each character.
Inactive characters are either jobber characters created by the booker or characters whose handler has not logged into the site for a month. A list of the currently used characters which are considered inactive can be found below:
Kincaid
Danica Jane
Russ Bolt
Robert D Jackson
The Suplex Sweethearts (Tommy Saxon and Ella Ripley)
Vanessa Scott
The Dogs of War (David Archer and Braxton Cable)
Death Squad (Aiden Balmer and Mary Downing)
Go Shihei
Clutch McCloud
Elizabeth Karlson
James Saturn
Johnny California
If any of these characters have recently posted a promo and are still on this list, please consider them active and request permission to use them in promos. The booker will update the list as often as possible.
