Name: Marcus Allen Jones
Handler: marileeg17
Nickname(s): Mark, the Marksman, the Smartest Man in Pro Wrestling
Date of Birth: November 9, 1997
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
Heel, Face, or Tweener?: Heel/ Heel-Leaning Tweener
Wrestling Style: Marcus’ style is very much in the vein of Will Ospreay and Ricochet aka flippy shit for days. In addition, Marcus’ style mirrors that of Daniel Bryan a far as his knowledge and use of submission holds. Marcus draws inspiration and similarities to John Morrison, AJ Styles and CM Punk as well.
Personality: Despite being just shy of his 21st birthday and in the midst of just his first professional wrestling contract with FPW, Marcus thinks he knows everything. Much like a young Randy Orton, Marcus doesn’t have time for the veterans who are trying to show him the ropes as he believes he’s already the best wrestler on the planet, due to basically growing up “in the business.” Marcus is definitely green but he’s confident he’s the best so it almost never shows just how inexperienced he really is. In many ways, Marcus is still defining his style and leaning who he is as a wrestler and who he wants to be. As a talker, Marcus has never had an issue with a mic in his hand. For a 20-21 year old, his ability on the mic has often been compared to that of a more seasoned vet. As a heel, Marcus uses his personality to get under the fans’ skin as well as that of his colleagues. He is very much an acquired taste in the locker room.
Strengths: As a high-flyer, Marcus benefits from great agility, flexibility and fitness. He has youthful energy and is extremely goal-oriented. As a lifelong wrestling fan, Marcus also has a great passion for his work.
Weaknesses: Youth and inexperience, a bit of a perfectionist which causes him to make mistakes, over-confidence, can sometimes be too much of a showboat
.
Pic Base: John Morrison
Attire: Marcus wears long navy blue tights with his nickname, “The Marksman,” written on the side of his left leg in a metallic purple. On the right side are three dates, November 9, 1997 (the day he was born), July 17, 2012 (the day he made his wrestling debut) and a third date, January 29, 2020, which no one knows what the significance is. He wrestles shirtless but comes to the ring wearing a black t-shirt that says, “Hi, My Name is Mark and I’m a Wrestleholic,” on the front. Marcus wears his long hair back in a bandana (think Johnny Mundo). He tapes his wrist and like football players with eye black, will often write things on them pertaining to inside jokes or industry terms.
Theme Song: Cult of Personality by Living Colour
Entrance: Cult of Personality begins to play, “Look into my eyes, what do you see, a cult of personality,” and then Marcus comes out, stands at the top of the ramp and does a standing backflip, landing in a pose similar to that of Will Ospreay. Marcus waits for a few seconds as his pyro hits from the base of the stage. Then, he begins his walk to the ring, only stopping when the lyrics hit, “I’m the smiling face on your TV.” That’s when he turns to the camera and flashes a big arrogant smile before pulling out a piece of paper, which each time reads something different.

2. Kick variations: Pele, Handspring Enzuigiri, Superkick, Spinning Heel, Dropkick, Baseball Slide

Finisher(s):
6 Stars! - Kenny Omega’s Rain Trigger (wrist lock transitioned into a short-arm bicycle knee strike)
Mark-Out Moment – a move set up by theatrics; Marcus climbs to the top rope, gets the crowd to clap along with him and then executes a 630 senton; sometimes, if near enough to a mic/camera, he’ll add, “Screw you Trevor!”
The Mark-treal Screwjob – Superkick followed up by a Sharpshooter; in non-DQ matches, Marcus continues to hold the sharpshooter until an opponent passes out or someone has to break up the hold
Backstory:
So distraught by the actions of her idol Shawn Michaels on the night of November 9, 1997 (a total work if you ask Marcus), a young Abigail Stevenson got drunk at a bar and ended up sleeping with a random guy who later became her husband, Allen Christopher Jones. It was on that night that Mark was born.
Always a bit of a smart-ass which earned him the nickname, “Smartass Mark,” Marcus grew up around the world of professional wrestling. His father rose to fame on the independent circuits while his mother became one of the most noted wrestling journalists in the Midwest. Marcus spent his life attending wrestling shows, going on the road, and learning everything he could about the business. So much so that by the time he turned 15 and was legally allowed to begin his training, Marcus dropped out of high school and enrolled in the Black and Brave Wrestling Academy in Illinois.
At just 15 years old, Marcus was one of the youngest trainees but his knowledge of the business as well as his acrobatic ability, stood out among his instructors. This led to Marcus graduating the academy with the highest distinction and being invited to have his first match, as part of an AAW show.
Marcus excelled in his debut and following the match was introduced to Jim Houston, who offered Marcus his first pro wrestling contract, to join the newly established Freedom Pro Wrestling.
