Welcome one and all, to the ICW Tag Team Classic! We've got teams from all over the world, both in and out of the ICW, competing for the opportunity to become the first-ever ICW tag team champions and claim the title of the best tag team in the Coalition! The tournament will begin on this Friday, April 12th, and will be broadcast on FPW's Network! The finals are scheduled to take place at ALPHA Wrestling's Ascendance Pay-Per-View, and will be simulcast on the FPW Network, as well! Without further adieu, the teams competing in the ICW Tag Team Classic are: REPRESENTING FREEDOM PRO WRESTLING: -The Renegades (John Grimm and Elizabeth Karlson) - The Renegades haven't been seen in action since John Grimm was taken out of the Hardcore Title Four-Way match at Judgment Day, but Grimm has assured us he's ready to return and reunite with his partner for a one-off tournament match. The Renegades still have their decorations from PWG during their reign as tag team champions, and have captured the hearts of many other independent wrestling fans across the West Coast-but can they capture the coveted Ice's Coalition of Wrestling Tag Team Championships as the first ever tag team champions? -The Invaders (Haych and Dario) - Haych and Dario have made themselves known as a cornerstone of Freedom Pro's tag team division, holding the belts for a record one-hundred and eighty-five days and defending them twice, the inaugural FPW tag team champions have nothing to prove and more gold to add to their collection as they pursue the ICW tag team championships. -Hunter-Killer (Sara Daniels and George Jackson) - Both Daniels and Jackson are eager to prove that they have what it takes to stand at the top of the FPW tag team division, and to do that, they need to carve through every team here. Rest assured, however, they'll make a tearing effort as they seek to hunt and kill every team in their path on the trail to the ICW Tag Team Championships. -The Bishop Family (Jerry and Berry Bishop) - Both Jerry and Berry have had a historic year, with Jerry making the finals of FPW's Free-1 against Graham Baker and the semi-finals of ALPHA's Ragnarok Royale against Baker, as well. Berry was a participant in the first-ever FPW Women's Championship Match, as well, and despite coming up short, she had an excellent showing. The brother and sister look to make history through winning the ICW tag team titles as more than a team, as a family. -Team Freedom Pro (Graham Baker and Jace Mason) - Graham Baker is no stranger to tag team glory, participating with Zachary Bates in PWG and winning the titles before the two would claim the ALPHA tag team championships for a short reign that ended when Bates dropped the belts to the New Age Plague. The Freedom Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion seeks to reclaim his tag team glory by teaming with Freedom Champion Jace Mason in an effort to win the inaugural ICW Tag Team Classic! -The Guardians of Strong Style (Freedom Pro Wrestling Tag Team Champions) - The Guardians of Strong Style exploded onto the tag team scene when they claimed number-one contendership for the tag team championships and, as no other team had before, won the titles on their first contest. Now on a tear, this team has tied the tag title defense record in just under one-hundred days. Can they explode onto the global scene once again by winning the ICW Tag Team Championships? Representing ALPHA Wrestling: -The Walkers (Edward and Angel Walker) - Angel and Edward, a young tag team, have had some success in challenging for the ALPHA Tag Team Championships but just barely coming up short two matches in a row. They seek to make a name for themselves by winning the ICW Tag Team Championships in the first-ever ICW Tag Team Classic. -The Rattler Brothers (Justin and Jordan Rattler) - ALPHA's Wrestling Spirit Champion joins with BSW Breakout Star Justin Rattler to try and claim their second title in professional wrestling through the ICW Tag Team Championships. Can these brothers succeed where all others have failed? -The Dark Sanctuary (Osiris and Stytch) - Perhaps the largest Dark Horse in this tournament, the Dark Sanctuary were the inaugural ALPHA Tag Team Champions, and held the belts for a record sixty-nine days with one defense. They've gone dark since then, but now they've returned to make a bang in the tournament field. Can they overcome the competition and claim their second-ever set of tag team championships? -Sweet Maple (Bobo Sweetcakes and Captain Canuck) - A surprising team of the baker and the hoser, both of these men made such an impression in their first-ever tag team match that they were given number one contendership for the tag team championships at ALPHA's upcoming show, Fall of Kings. Can they ride the wave of hype to tag title glory against the following team, and can they become the first-ever ICW Tag Team Champions? -Marcus n' Morgan (Marcus and Tyler Morgan, ALPHA Tag Team Champions) - The current ALPHA Tag Team Champions after a shock upset win against the New Age Plague, Marcus n' Morgan are both veteran in-ring performers who seek to legitimize themselves as a tag team. Can these former foes turned friends find tag team glory and affirm their place in the lexicon of tag team wrestling by becoming double crown tag team champions? Representing RIOT! Pro Wrestling: -Scott and Holliday (Vanessa Scott and Shane Holliday) - The inaugural RIOT! Pro Grand Champion joins forces with potential muse Vanessa Scott as the two seek to continue their path to personal glory through the acquisition of the ICW Tag Team Championships. -The Suplex Sweethearts (Tommy Saxon and Ella Ripley) - Still undefeated in RIOT!, this tag team seeks to expand beyond the small pond they've found themselves in to seek newfound glory in the global tag team scene. They should not be underestimated on their path to the ICW Tag Team Championships! -Team Rising Sun (Io Ishimori and Matsuno Honami) - Two rising stars in ALPHA Wrestling, this unlikely duo was paired by management to see if they could work together to overcome their differences and create something beautiful. Can they overcome their differing ideologies long enough to survive in this tag team classic? -Gisei and Rock (Amaya Gisei and Elijah Rock) - Two brutal bruisers from RIOT! Pro, can these two work past their differences and make a name for themselves in the ICW tag team division? Representing New Era Wrestling -The Ryker Brothers - Yet another team that seeks to escape a small-pond, the Ryker Brothers look to carve their name into the history books by becoming the first-ever ICW Tag Team Champions! With our entire roster assembled, one can see an entire bracket (and place predictions!) here! As for a schedule, every episode of the ICW Tag Team Classic will air on a Friday, beginning this Friday, April 12th, and will feature two matches up until the finals at Ascendance. GOSS vs. Sweet Maple In a hotly contested match, Sweet Maple look to make a statement as they lay into the Guardians of Strong Style with heavy blows, starting off with an impressive offensive showing from Bobo Sweetcakes. Bobo nails Takahara with repeated, brutal overhand fists, switching his arsenal over to chops and drilling Takahara into the corner. He nails Takahara repeatedly, excessively, not letting the Guardian get his offense in, before whipping him into the ropes. He leapfrogs Takahara and catches him for his signature Sunset Flip Powerbomb, but Takahara kicks out before two! Sweetcakes throws Takahara into the Sweet Maple corner and tags in Canuck, and the two set up for Sweet Maple’s combination Falcon Arrow/220 Brule, but Takahara fights against it with all of his might and manages to force Canuck to release him. He bashes Canuck in the skull with repeated, alternating forearms before tossing him into the ropes, catching him on the come-around with a lariat. He goes for a tag to Tchyukiro, but Canuck yanks him back, throwing him back into Sweet Maple’s corner once more. He manages to nail Takahara with a massive back body splash, tagging in on Bobo and allowing Bobo to run rampant once more. Bobo nails Takahara with a flying back elbow, but as he yanks him off to go for his triple suplex combination, Takahara begins fighting back and laying in damage. He chops Bobo in the throat, and when Bobo keels over, he nails him in the gut with a knee, a series of forearms to the skull, a discus lariat that nearly knocks Bobo over, a discus knee that sends him stumbling, and, finally, a running forearm that likely concussed Bobo Sweetcakes. He goes for a pin that nets him a two-count, but Bobo, for worse or better, clearly isn’t done yet.
