Name: Jace Mason
Handler: noname1525
Nickname(s): 'The Eternal Student'
Date of Birth: September 15 1994
Hometown: Seattle Washington, USA
Heel, Face, or Tweener?: Face
Wrestling Style: After coming up short several times, Jace has re-worked his style to focus more on what’s worked the most in the past, emphasizing precise and hard-hitting strikes, accentuated by high-impact grappling attacks
Personality: More subdued than he used to be, Jace’s eagerness has evolved into a desperation to prove that he’s good enough to compete at this level.
Strengths: Jace’s biggest strength is his innate desire to improve himself, constantly learning and tweaking his style. He also possesses incredible resiliency and cardio, he’s able to take incredible amounts of punishment and keep going, even late into a match.
Weaknesses: The longer a match goes on, the more Jace starts to question himself and become desperate to prove he can beat his opponent (especially if they kick out of one of his finishers.) And despite how far he’s come, Jace still makes mistakes that more experienced wrestlers wouldn't.
Wrestler Pic Base: Flip Gordon
Attire: Black tights with bright blue strips down both sides, black boots with bright blue lacing, black elbow and knee pads. Black athletic tape around his hands and wrists, with bright blue wristbands to add a bit of color to the upper body. Wears a black zip-up hooded vest with bright blue highlights during his entrance.
Theme Song: "Afterlife" by Avenged Sevenfold
Entrance: Jace waits behind the curtain as the intro for "Afterlife" plays. As soon as the intro is over he steps out, one foot forward in a dramatic pose and pyro goes off. He pauses to look at the crowd, taking in the reaction with a determined look on his face. He interacts with the crowd on his way down the ramp, although he’s prone to miss the people cheering him as he focuses on the boos.He gets on the ring apron and climbs the right side turnbuckles. He pauses again, one foot on the top and one on the middle turnbuckle, before raising his right fist and dropping into the ring.
Moveset:
Common moves
Back elbow
Knife edge chop
Shotgun dropkick
Gamengiri
Sole kick (sometimes done on its own, sometimes followed up with a DDT or an uppercut)
Kick combination (spinning gut kick, takes a step back, steps forward and kicks out opponent's leg, causing them to drop to hands and knees, hits the ropes before a low dropkick to the head)
Snapmare into penalty kick
Hammerlock lariat
Running knee strike to an opponent in the corner
STO
DDT, sometimes used after blocking a vertical suplex.
Falcon's Arrow
Single underhook suplex
Ushigoroshi
Irish curse backbreaker
Wrecking ball dropkick
Submissions: (theoretically, any of these could finish a match, but none of them are considered “finishers” any more)
Single leg Boston Crab
Triangle choke
Fujiwara armbar, usually set up with a drop toe hold
Signatures (occasionally finish the match, but more often used to set up for the finisher)
Shooting Star Press
Disaster kick
Finishers:
Extra Credit (Spanish Fly, sometimes done from the top rope)
Mason’s Hammer (superman punch)
Backstory: Relatively new to the world of pro wrestling, Jace still (and likely always will) considers himself a student, learning something new after every match he has. He started in this business as part of a tag team, but now that they’ve amicably split, he’s come to FPW looking to prove himself as a singles star. After achieving success in his first two years in FPW, a tumultuous start to the year 2020 has left him grappling with a simple question: “Am I good enough?”
