A video package shows highlights from the night before, from Nick Jameson and Jeremiah Johnson aligning and attacking Graham Baker and James Saturn, to Anarchy’s victory over TJ Cole and Jerry Bishop, to Jack Sevren and Bobby O defeating The Hardcases and to Davey Jones and Azazel overcoming Sons of Cerberus. It then shows Graham Baker and MDE working over each other’s shoulders before showing MDE unable to lock in the Simply Great Stretch followed by his panic and his eventual quitting. It then shows the debut of Super Che Junior followed by Jerry Bishop trying to attack TJ Cole, ending with the multiple faceoffs between both versions of the Friendmigos and TakeOver.
MW: Hello and welcome to Night Two of Freedom Pro Wrestling’s All Star Tag Team Classic. Last night was explosive in more ways than one.
SD: You're telling me. Baker. Jameson. Johnson. The implosion of the Friendmigos. Debuts. Shocks. Surprises. I've barely recovered and here we go again.
MW: We sure do. Before we begin with our first match, we have to announce the issues that have arisen after Jeremiah Johnson and Nick Jameson attacked James Saturn after their match last night. It is rumoured that James Saturn may have a concussion and may be unable to compete tonight.
SD: After that attack, he may be unable to compete for a year. Johnson and Jameson make for a dangerous force.
MW: And speaking of Johnson and Jameson, they are in our first semi-final tonight against an intriguing team of Jack Sevren and Bobby O.
SD: Their chemistry needed work last night, but they picked up a win nonetheless. Two new teams facing each other tonight and I couldn't honestly say who will come out with the win.
Match 1: Jack Sevren and Bobby O v Nick Jameson and Jeremiah Johnson:
‘Shattered Skies’ begins to play and Jack Sevren walks out onto the ramp. The fans give a mixed reaction, although with seemingly more cheers than there were last night. He walks down to the ring and stops by the same fan he bumped fists with the night before. He looks at that fan, who is now wearing a Graham Baker t-shirt. Sevren shakes his head and moves across the aisle, bumping fists with a different fan who is wearing his shirt. He climbs into the ring and pumps up the fans, which is met with more cheers but still a good number of boos.
This Means War plays for about 15 seconds before the music pauses and then Bobby walks out wearing a military style jacket. He pops the collar and then walks to the ring at a fast pace, trying to high five fans on the way. Bobby enters the ring via the steel steps. When he gets in the ring, he grabs the ropes and leans over them, looking towards the crowd and pointing and smiling. He turns to Sevren and offers his hand. Sevren gives him a look and instead offers a fist. Bobby bumps it and they stand awaiting their opponents.
The remix of 2Pac's final round hits the PA. As soon as Rocky's motivational speech ends, Jeremiah Johnson comes out in a black silk robe with his Pi symbol on the back. He throws a few shadow punches at the top of the ramp. He holds his hands above his head, his middle, index and thumbs outstretched. He throws his arms down into the shape of his DD214 finisher. He then stands for a moment before the music switches to ‘All Roads Lead to Hell’. Jameson comes out with his hood up and the two point towards the ring at their opponents. Both men talk trash to the fans on the way down, and Jameson shoves one especially mouthy fan to the floor before security can step in. Bobby moves to the ropes to admonish him while Sevren stands back and gives an appreciative smile. Jameson enters the ring first, giving his traditional thrusting while Johnson stands on the top turnbuckle and shows off his physique to the fans.
Johnson then steps between the ropes to allow Jameson to begin the match, while Bobby and Sevren take a while to agree. Sevren wins the discussion and he and Jameson circle one another before locking up. Jameson takes the advantage with a headlock but Sevren slips out and into a hammerlock. Jameson quickly escapes and wrings Sevren’s arm, wrenching it and causing him to drop to his knees. Jameson connects with a hard kick to the arm, causing Sevren to roll away and cry out in pain. Jameson then aims more kicks to the arm before holding the arm down, lifting himself up and coming down with both knees onto the arm. Sevren rolls away as Jameson tags in Johnson.
Johnson enters the ring and repeatedly stomps on Sevren in the corner before the official pulls him away. Johnson shoves the official away and goes back to Sevren but he's met with a poke to the eye, causing the official to warn Sevren. Sevren pulls himself up with his right arm but Jameson spins him round and connects with a right hand, allowing Johnson to set him up for a DD-214. Sevren however twists out of the position and lands a series of chops to Johnson, forcing him back to Sevren’s corner. Sevren follows and drives his knee into Johnson’s gut before Bobby tags himself in. Sevren gives him a look before stepping through the ropes.
Bobby comes in and hits a jock belly to belly suplex before covering Johnson, 1-2-no. Johnson kicks out just after the two. Bobby then pulls him up and lifts him onto his shoulders, but Johnson quickly slips down and locks in a sleeper. Bobby quickly drops to his knees and then to the mat but Sevren quickly comes in and breaks the hold with a stomp. Jameson enters the ring and he and Sevren exchange strikes, Sevren clotheslining him out of the ring. Sevren follows but Jameson catches him with a spinebuster as he steps off the apron. Jameson then pulls him up before kicking him in the gut and pulling him in for a t-bone suplex which sends Sevren into the guardrail.
MW: That's got to hurt!
SD: I love Nick Jameson. He might be my favourite guy here right now.
MW: He's not afraid of a bit of controversy, that's for sure. Right now I'm worried for Bobby O.
SD: Here comes Jameson!
Jameson tags in and stomps on Bobby repeatedly. He then pulls him up and hits a spinebuster again. Jameson makes the cover, 1-2-no. Bobby kicks out. Jameson hits him with a straight right to the face as the official gives him a warning, but Jameson laughs it off, spitting in Bobby’s face and dragging him to the corner. He stomps on him over and over again until the official pulls him away, before tagging in Johnson, who lifts Bobby up and hits him with a series of forearms, over and over and over again. The official pulls him away too as the fans boo. Bobby slumps down to the mat as Johnson kicks him lightly with the point of his boot, laughing at Bobby as he gasps for air.
MW: Bobby O is in serious trouble in this match.
SD: And Jack Sevren still hasn't moved.
MW: Jameson and Johnson can end this whenever they like.
Jameson tags in again. He stands over Bobby and spits on him again. The fans continue to boo and Jameson gives Bobby some hard kicks before pulling him up and going for a t-bone suplex. Bobby elbows him and tries to fight back, but Jameson drives him into the corner and Johnson tags in, hitting Bobby with a series of headbutts. Bobby drops to the mat again and Johnson calls for the DD-214. As he does, the fans begin to cheer as Jack Sevren makes his way to his feet. Jameson drops to the floor as Sevren hits him with right hands then connects with a Tornado DDT using the steps.
MW: Sevren’s back in this one!
SD: But Bobby O might be done before he can get into the ring.
Johnson gets Bobby in position and hits the DD-214 but Sevren slides in and connects with a dropkick before Johnson can make the cover. He lifts the leg and goes for a figure four, but Johnson pushes him away and makes it to his feet. As he does, Jameson slides back into the ring and the two of them manage to take Sevren down. Johnson looks for a DD-214 on Sevren and it connects. As he and Jameson turn, Graham Baker emerges from the crowd.
MW: Graham Baker!
SD: He got one of the biggest wins of his career last night. What's he doing here?
MW: He also got attacked by these two and dropped by Nick Jameson. He's here for revenge.
Jameson slides out of the ring to go after Baker and, as Johnson turns to focus on Bobby, Bobby connects with an RKO, quickly making the cover and hooking both legs, 1-2-3.
MW: Jack Sevren and Bobby O have made it into the the final!
SD: Jameson and Johnson were robbed. Graham Baker screwed them.
MW: Baker certainly did provide some assistance, but Bobby O took his chance. Jeremiah Johnson took his eyes off the prize for just long enough.
Backstage, Dasha Banks stands with Elizabeth Karlson.
DB: Elizabeth. Thank you for joining me today. How do you feel going into what will be your debut here in FPW.
EK: I'm looking forward to showcasing my abilities. I think I can bring something here that nobody else can and I'm glad that I get to show that today.
DB: How about Marcus Allen Jones’ comments and actions towards you in recent weeks?
EK: If he doesn't want to face a woman that's up to him. But wrestling nowadays is an equal opportunities sport. I've proven before that I can compete with the men and I'll prove it again today.
DB: I'd like to see-
Dasha is cut off as TakeOver walk up to them. Karlson squares up to Marcus.
MAJ: Hahaha. Calm it down there, Lizzie. You're a little tetchy today. Anyone would think it's a bad time for me to wrestle you. I don't want to be getting blood on my hands if I try to slam you.
EK: You're a disgusting little pig. Tonight I'll make you squeal.
MAJ: But first we'll have a wrestling match eh darling.
Marcus bursts out laughing as he and The Invaders walk on. Karlson looks at them and stretches out here neck.
Match 2: Azazel and Davey Jones v Anarchy (no match writer):
The match is a very back and forth affair, with Davis Reynolds managing to match Azazel for much of it but Kassius Boone struggling against Davey Jones. For the finish of the match, Reynolds has Azazel in a heel hook but Davey Jones chokeslams Boone onto him to break the hold. Jones then his Psychosis onto Reynolds before Azazel covers him for the win.
After the match, Boone checks on Reynolds and the two receive a loud round of applause as they stand together in the ring. Reynolds holds back as Boone starts to leave the ring before pulling him back and hitting him with a low blow. The fans boo as Reynolds stares down at Boone and spits on him before walking out. As Reynolds leaves, Boone struggles to stand and looks devastated. He's helped out of the ring by the officials.
Backstage, Jim Houston is in his office with Nick Jameson and Jeremiah Johnson.
JJ: You banned us from getting involved with Baker and now you let him get involved in our match. What the hell is wrong with this place.
NJ: You're a fucking disgrace. If he gets involved in my title defence later tonight, I'm not going to be held responsible for the damage I'll cause. You'll be responsible.
JJ: I'll make sure that no one gets involved. You can trust me on that.
JH: Actually gentlemen, I'll make sure that nobody gets involved, if we even have the match at all. If Baker or yourself Jeremiah get involved, I will ensure that there is a very suitable punishment. Now if you will excuse me gentlemen, I have a variety of jobs to attend to.
NJ: Just make sure that I don't get screwed. Again.
The camera cuts to Matt Dwyer getting ready to come out for his match. He stands with Jerry Bishop and Super Che Junior.
JB: Are you ready Matt my man?
MD: I am. But the thing is… I'm glad you're back here with me, don't get me wrong dude. It's been hell these past few months. But I want to prove to myself that I can overcome these guys without any help. I've got to think there's a real war to come between us and TJ and his bullies, and I don't want go into it with any questions.
JB: But what if TJ gets involved? I know what he can do.
MD: Then I'd happily let you guys come out and kick his ass. But if he doesn't show up, I want you guys to stay here.
Matt leaves the locker room with Jerry nodding.
JB: You know something, Che. I think everything's going to be alright.
Che holds out a hand and pulls something out of his pocket. He shows Jerry a small ring. Jerry looks at him with his eyes welling up.
JB: You kept this?
SCJ: Si…
Match 3: Marcus Allen Jones v Elizabeth Karlson v Matt Dwyer (written by Baker/Karlson):
MW: “And we’re back, after an exciting day of tag team action, we come to the finals of our Tag Team Tournament. First, however, we have a three-way match between a newly debuting star and two Freedom Pro Wrestling mainstays!”
SD: “I don’t know what Dwyer thought he was doing get involved in this, and I sure as hell don’t know why Miss Karlson thought she was making a good decision getting involved, either. Everyone knows that Marcus is one of the best on the roster-why would they challenge him?”
MW: “Well, Steven, sometimes you have to earn what’s yours and make the biggest splash you can. Dwyer might’ve just been getting involved for the hell of it, but Karlson’s looking for something to prove against Marcus...and she might just get it.”
The lights dim and turn to blue and grey as Matt Dwyer makes his entrance, with the crowd popping for him early. He slings his guitar over his shoulder, cracking a smile and making the ‘Friendmigo’ symbol with his hand before walking toward the ring. He swings the guitar around a few times, interacting with the fans before he deposits the guitar close to ringside, tapping it and keeping in mind where it is. He slides under the bottom rope, and plays to the crowd, before settling in a corner and watching the entrance ramp.
MW: “Dwyer’s smart to keep his guitar close-by-after all, in this triple threat match, there are no disqualifications!”
Moments later, the lights in the arena go completely dark, and flashes of white light shine around as Karlson’s theme plays. She’s barely visible as she heads toward the ring, but those who can see her see that her ‘mask’ has the letters ‘MAJ’ written on the forehead. She plays to the crowd as she heads to the ring, before sliding under the bottom rope and draping herself on the apron for a moment, pulling her mask off and dropping it off the side of the apron with her sweatshirt. She leans against a turnbuckle opposite Dwyer, cracking a sly smile at him. Before the two can interact, however, the static beginning of ‘Cult of Personality’ hits.
SD: “Here he is! The reigning Young Lions Cup champion, the man himself-Marcus Allen Jones! One of the strongest competitors in FPW to date!”
MW: “He’s one hell of a competitor, that’s for sure, but his reliance on underhanded tactics and overzealous attitude sure do strike a nerve with some people.”
SD: “What are you talking about? MAJ is one of our most popular competitors! A true man’s man, and a true athlete in every sense of the word!”
As commentary continues to bicker, MAJ hits his trademark backflip before heading down to the ring, the crowd a 50/50 mix of boos and cheers for the man. As he gets to the base of the ring and smiles into the camera, he pulls out a piece of paper that says, very simply, ‘No c**ts allowed’, pointing at Karlson and soaking in the resounding boos from the crowd after the action. He drops the paper to the ground, and rolls into the ring, but instead of heading to a corner he accosts a ring announcer as they enter the ring and rips the microphone from their hands. He turns toward the hard cam, addressing it directly.
MAJ: “Let it be clear that what i’m about to do is humanitarian, and only with the utmost respect for this sport and those who compete. I’m a true competitor, i’m no fucking James Ellsworth, and i’m not going to let that bitch stand across from me in the ring, triple threat or not.”
MAJ turned back toward Karlson, who regarded him with a furious look, before picking the microphone back up.
MAJ: “So i’ll make this little caveat here. Karlson, you walk on out of this ring, you walk on back to my locker room, and maybe I can get you set up with a little ‘star time’ with myself...and maybe you can come out with me a few times, if things between us go well. Deal?”
MAJ turns back toward Karlson, offering a hand to the confusion of herself, Dwyer, the ring announcer, and the referee. Karlson looks at his hand, and extends her own, cracking a dumb smile as she grabs it and shakes it.
SD: “At least she had some common sense! She wouldn’t go anywhere in Freedom Pro by herself-maybe MAJ can boost her up a bit!”
MW: “I wouldn’t be so sure of that, Steven!”
As MAJ turns to walk away, Karlson keeps her grasp on his arm, and moments later she whips him hard into the corner. MAJ drops the microphone at the same time that the ring announcer drops the formalities and rings the bell to signal the start of the match. Dwyer takes a moment to enjoy the carnage as Karlson rails MAJ with a hard knee to the corner, sending him to the ground! She turns around, looking at Dwyer and regarding his amusement for a moment, before she pulls MAJ back up and whips him into the opposing corner, barely missing Dwyer! She runs at MAJ once again, but he quickly rolls out of the way-not nearly fast enough, however, as Karlson recovers into a springboard enziguri, kicking MAJ directly in the head and sending him to the ground. Dwyer takes advantage of this, and goes for a bicycle kick on Karlson as she recovers from the hit, but she reverses it, grabbing his leg and spinning him around before locking in a waistlock and hitting him with a vicious backdrop suplex! It’s a strong early showing for the debutant, who bows to the cheering crowd before going to the top rope. She targets MAJ, who’s a tad bit closer to her than Dwyer, and goes for a double stomp-but she misses! She rolls through and into the waiting knee of a furious MAJ!
SD: “A Shining Wizard! How brutal!”
MAJ goes for a quick pin on Karlson, who’s been knocked silly by the quick blow, but Dwyer breaks it up at the two count! Karlson rolls out of the ring for a moment, leaving Dwyer and MAJ to combat one another while she recovers. MAJ goes for a basement dropkick, but Dwyer’s too fast and knows his opponent too well, hopping over Dwyer’s slide and hitting the ropes. He goes for a springboard 450, but MAJ avoids it, rolling up Dwyer as he lands hard on the canvas! He barely gets a two count when Dwyer kicks out, and both men spring back to their feet with Dwyer going for a Jumping Neckbreaker-but MAJ reverses it, looking to end it early with a sudden ripchord Six Star Knee! Dwyer goes down, and MAJ goes for the pin, but Dwyer kicks out at two once again! MAJ looks furious, but has little time to think as Dwyer pulls himself up and hits a brutal dropkick on MAJ! MAJ is down, and Dwyer goes to the corner, tuning up the band for a Sweet Chin Music while MAJ gets back to his feet. He’s almost ready to hit the kick-
MW: “But wait, that’s-”
KARLSON INTERCEPTS DWYER MID-SUPERKICK WITH A SPRINGBOARD ELBOW! DWYER’S DOWN! KARLSON COULD GO FOR THE PIN...but she doesn’t, instead turning her focus to MAJ. Marcus turns to face Elizabeth, who leans on the corner, giving him a vicious glare. He looks at the downed Dwyer, contemplates a pin, and instead goes for a superkick-but Elizabeth reverses it and sweeps his leg before she traps him in an Indian Deathlock! MAJ looks to be in immense pain as Elizabeth looks to transition the hold to the Chronic Illness for the win! She locks in the kneebar, but MAJ struggles to get to the ropes, leaving his arms safely out of position! She gets a grasp-but MAJ has his hand on the bottom rope of the ring, and the referee forces Karlson to break her hold! Karlson looks to be frustrated, and in losing her focus she, herself, falls victim to a leg-sweep from MAJ! He traps her in a Boston Crab, pulling her into the center of the ring and continuously applying pressure to Karlson’s back and legs! Karlson’s in immense pain, but she grits her teeth and refuses to tap, causing MAJ to begin cursing her out! He lets the hold up for just a moment, and Karlson takes advantage, reversing the Boston Crab into a roll-up!
ONE!
TWO!!
THR-DWYER BREAKS THE PIN WITH A DIVE INTO THE RING! ALL THREE COMPETITORS ARE BACK ON THEIR FEET, BUT BOTH MAJ AND KARLSON ARE ON WOUNDED LEGS! DWYER’S IN CONTROL NOW!
Dwyer and Karlson share a glance as they look at MAJ, and both seem to have found some common ground for the time being. MAJ, noticing this alliance, gives two defiant middle fingers, but he’s met with a vicious dropkick-running knee combo! MAJ is down, but Karlson quickly steals the advantage, hitting a Backstabber on Dwyer and sending him to the ground! She quickly moves, getting him in position for the Creeping Death, but Dwyer struggles against her!
MW: “Here we see some of Karlson’s technical expertise coming out-this next submission could potentially end the match!”
SD: “No way! MAJ still has some trick up his sleeve-and he’s bound to use it, seeing as these two seem to have turned on him!”
MW: “Turned on him?! They weren’t working together to begin with!”
Dwyer manages to avoid the Creeping Death, reversing it into a Small Package rollup, but Karlson quickly kicks out! Karlson kips-up quickly just in time to catch a Jumping Neckbreaker from Dwyer, who contemplates a pin but decides against it, instead jumping the ropes and executing a perfect Springboard 450 on Karlson! Dwyer goes for the pin once again!
ONE!
TWO!!
THR-KARLSON KICKS OUT AT THE LAST SECOND! She sits up, exhausted, but with a fire in her eyes! She looks back to Dwyer, furious, and as he goes to pull her up and execute a Fallaway Slam, Karlson takes advantage of a wristlock and hits Dwyer with a short-arm lariat! She pulls him up for another, and another, before dropping him and celebrating for a moment, unaware that Dwyer has rolled out of the ring. MAJ slides back beneath the ropes, and as Karlson turns, he goes to hit her with another Six Star Knee, but she reverses it, taking advantage of the ripchord once again and whipping him into the ropes! She catches him as he comes back, executing a brutal chokebreaker, and another, and another, before dropping him to the ground! She’s furious, and she finally sees her moment-looking to the top rope in the corner, she points, before pulling MAJ up, slapping him in the face and yanking him into the corner! She sits him atop the top rope, and signals for the Execution to the crowd, who begin to go wild! She clambors up the ropes, playing to the crowd for a moment, and is about to execute the Frankensteiner when DWYER CLOCKS HER IN THE BACK WITH A VIOLENT GUITAR SHOT! KARLSON DROPS OFF THE ROPES, AND DWYER SHATTERS HIS GUITAR OVER HER HEAD! KARLSON’S OUT!
Dwyer takes the guitar remains in his hands, and tosses them outside the ring, taking a moment to clear out the exhaustion from his eyes. He’s about to go for the pin, when MAJ comes out of nowhere and hits a violent tornado DDT on him, taking Dwyer out for the moment! Dwyer goes down, but Karlson still hasn’t stirred, and MAJ takes the opportunity in his hands, hooking Karlson’s leg!
ONE!
TWO!!
THREE!!!
The bell rings as the referee counts the pin, leaving both Dwyer and Karlson down to count the lights. MAJ has his hand raised as the victor, and he executes a crotch-chop to Karlson on the mat, seeming to take more pride in the fact that he pinned her than his victory over Dwyer. He gives Dwyer the finger, and rolls out of the ring, collecting the sheet of paper he walked in with.
SD: “And he’s done it again! The Young Lion’s Cup winner, Marcus Allen Jones, has proven his superiority! After this fight, there’s no doubt-”
MW: “No doubt in what? Karlson had his number, if Dwyer hadn’t come back in, he’d be done!”
SD: “-that MAJ is the best competitor in this league, and that people like Karlson have no place here! He simply took advantage of the situation and won in the best possible way!”
Dwyer goes up on his knees after the match, looking at the ramp as MAJ holds his sign up once again, and Karlson lays prone, unmoving, in the ring next to him...
Backstage, the camera is quickly moving, following a paramedic who is running through a corridor. She stops at a small group of people and the camera shows Graham Baker lying motionless with blood dripping from a cut in his forehead.
Medic 1: He's conscious and breathing.
Medic 2: How's the laceration?
Medic 1: Not too serious.
Medic 2: Any other obvious injuries?
Medic 1: His heads already swelling up big time. Get the neck brace just in case and we'll take him in.
The camera pans across to Nick Jameson and Jeremiah Johnson who stand leaning against a crate nearby. They laugh and walk off as a stretcher is pulled out of an ambulance.
Match 4: Nick Jameson v James Saturn: FPW Hardcore Title (written by Baker/Karlson):
The Hardcore Title match opens with a view of the commentary booth, as the ring is seen being equipped for a match that many are unsure of. Following Nick Jameson and Jeremiah Johnson’s brutal assault on James Saturn, the status of this Hardcore championship match has been a large ‘question mark’ due to the looming threat of a concussion to Saturn.
MW: And we’re back, with the promise of a phenomenal Hardcore title match ahead of us. The question is, will Jack Saturn be able to compete after Nick Jameson’s ruthless assault on him in the first day of this tag team classic tournament?
SD: All the better if he can’t, honestly. Jameson’s assault, not to mention Johnson’s vicious DD-214 on the steps, may have been outside the realm of what’s ‘accepted’ nowadays, but to take matters into his own hands and eliminate a challenger that he didn’t see as worthy? That’s a sign of a respectable champion right there.
MW: Surely you can’t be defending Jameson’s actions?
SD: Why wouldn’t I? Jameson’s proven, with his string of Hardcore defenses since his victory at Temple of Doom, that he’s the best man suited for the belt. He should have distinction over who he fights, you know?
MW: Well, I just can’t-
Watson is cut off by the lyrics of ‘BREAK, BREAK, BREAK YOUR FUCKIN’ NECK’ belting out as Nick Jameson enters from behind the curtain, holding his title up in the air. He’s in his ring gear, but with his sweatshirt still on, he doesn’t look to be anticipating a match. He jeers at the crowd as they boo him, giving a woman and her child the finger as he passes them by before spitting in a man’s face. He rolls into the ring below the bottom rope, motioning for the ring crew to toss him a microphone, which he gets. He looks around and soaks in the boos from the crowd before facing the hard cam down.
NJ: Well, you’ve all seen a lot of me the past few fuckin’ days, and honestly, I felt like I deserved a match off, especially against a guy like Saturn who had no business challenging for this fuckin’ belt in the first place. I’m here to announce that I, Nick fuckin’ Jameson, the baddest motherfucker in this promotion, have once again defended my Hardcore title by winning this match by forfeit.
MW: WHAT?! We weren’t notified of that!
SD: The champ’s making his call on the situation, we just need to respect it!
NJ: That’s not to say that Jim Houston or any of the cucks up in FPW’s main office decided that-no, i’m declaring it right now. Saturn’s brains are a little too fuckin’ scrambled for him to walk out here, let alone compete in a hardcore match against the king of hardcore himself. However, if y’all want to give me grief over it, i’ll give him a chance to come out on his own.
Jameson turns toward the entrance ramp, laying his title down on the mat.
NJ: One…Two...Two and a half…
A wicked smile grows on Jameson’s face as he turns back toward the camera, before suddenly, the opening beats of ‘My Last Breath’ blast out of the speaker system at the arena.
SD: What the hell?
MW: Could it be?
Jameson looks furious, and he turns back toward the entrance as James Saturn shakily makes his entrance to a massive pop from the crowd.
MW: It is! James Saturn, despite his beatdown at the hands of Nick Jameson, is here! He looks out for blood!
SD: If it’s blood he wants, he’ll get it-but it probably won’t be the blood he’s looking for!
Saturn’s head is wrapped in bandages and he looks to be hurting, but he looks especially determined and focused as he high fives the crowd and makes his way into the ring. Jameson throws his sweatshirt aside, and looks to the microphone one final time as Saturn steps up on the apron, facing him down. Jameson grabs the microphone, and looks back at Saturn.
NJ: Your fuckin’ funeral.
Jameson tosses the microphone out of the ring, and a referee scrambles out to collect Jameson’s title and start the match. The ring announcer steps in the ring, grabbing Jameson’s discarded microphone, and climbing through the ropes. Commentary speaks on the feat of Saturn returning after his status was questionable, but as the ring announcer goes to start the match introductions, James Saturn audibly mutters ‘fuck this’ and RAILS JAMESON WITH A RUNNING KNEE! SATURN FORCES JAMESON IN THE CORNER, BACKING OFF AND HITTING A CORNER DROPKICK ON HIM! HE PULLS JAMESON OUT, KEEPING HIS WRIST LOCKED!
MW: What an amazing explosion of offense to start this match off! Saturn wants a fight, and he wants it quick!
SD: Saturn had to resort to a coward’s tactic of not letting the match official announce the start, he’s pathetic! He should be more noble, like Jameson!
MW: Are you out of your mind?
Saturn hits Jameson with a ropewalk chop, sending the man to the floor, before he goes for a quick pin. Jameson kicks out at two, and Saturn picks his offense back up, hitting Jameson with a brutal sitting dropkick before he looks to the corner turnbuckle. He looks to end the match quickly, playing to the crowd and setting up for a Saturnsault. He climbs the ropes, keeping his eyes off Jameson…
MW: Already going for the Saturnsault-if he hits this, we could see the upset win of the century!
SD: I wouldn’t be so sure about that!
Saturn executes the Saturnsault-INTO THE WAITING ARMS OF NICK JAMESON! Jameson’s been back on his feet, and catches Saturn with a Devil Driver! Jameson drives Saturn into the mat, rolling away from the downed man and crotch-chopping before looking to the crowd and giving double-birds. Jameson kicks Saturn in the back, stomping on him and keeping him down for a moment as he leaves the ring, going to look for a weapon. He rolls a garbage can into the ring, as well as a bundle of light tubes and a bag of thumbtacks. He grabs a few chairs as well, and is under the ring looking for a table when Saturn shakily gets back to his feet. Saturn spots Jameson, and looks to the weapons and the ropes, before a plan formulates in his head.
SD: Jameson’s rightfully regained control, but what is Saturn looking for here? A way out, maybe?
MW: Jameson may have control for the time being, but let’s not write Saturn off-one move could win this match back for him!
Saturn runs the ropes, and as Jameson comes back up from under the ring with a table in hand, Saturn hits a brutal suicide spear on him, sending him back into the metal barricade around the ring! Both men are down, with Saturn holding his already injured head and neck while Nick Jameson goes to one knee. Jameson lets out a growl and brutally kicks Saturn in the head, sending another wave of pain through his already-injured skull!
MW: The humanity! Jameson’s begun focusing on Saturn’s head-could this be the end?
SD: As it should be! Saturn shouldn’t have even come out to compete-now he’s going to get all the receipts he needs to make sure he never competes in FPW ever again!
Jameson rolls Saturn back into the ring, before sliding the table back in as well. He has a determined, violent look on his face, shoving the garbage can out of the way with his foot and collecting the bag of thumb tacks from the ground. He approaches Saturn, taunting him as he holds his head, before he spills the thumbtacks out to the left of them. Jameson picks Saturn up for the Stigmata Bomb, and despite Saturn’s struggles, Jameson heaves him down onto the tacks face-first, sending another wave of pain through Saturn’s head. Jameson goes for the pin!
ONE!
TWO!!
THR-NO! SATURN KICKS OUT!
MW: What grit! To fight through a brutal offensive like this and still fight on against a man like Jameson while in a weakened state-Saturn’s showing his strength here!
SD: It’s all a short burst! Soon, Jameson’ll have him down again, and that’ll be the end of James Saturn! Better for FPW, that way…
Jameson gets up, looking at Saturn with fury, before he delivers another brutal punt-kick to Saturn’s head and sends him back down into the tacks. He spits on Saturn again, before grabbing one of the chairs he placed in the ring and setting it up in the corner, looking back to Saturn and grabbing him in a waistlock. Jameson goes through with the Chaos Theory, executing an O’Connor roll and going for the German Suplex-but somehow, Saturn flips out of it! Jameson’s in shock, and as he turns, he gets a brutal running knee to the face from Saturn, busting him open! Saturn rolls out of the knee, looking to be in a bad way, but he shakes the cob-webs out of his head and goes for the bundle of light tubes next to him! He undoes the bindings as Jameson holds his bleeding nose, and as Jameson turns around once again Saturn lets loose a violent swing with a scream, shattering the light tube against Jameson’s face! He hits him with another, and another, before grabbing two tubes and playing to the crowd as he swings them around! He looks to Nick Jameson, who’s shakily gotten back to a knee, blood pouring freely now. Jameson blinks to try and clear the dust from his eyes, and Saturn takes a moment to showboat, pointing one of the light tubes at Jameson and making a throat-slit motion with the other.
SD: You know, Saturn should know not to showboat. It’s acts like this that cost Graham Baker his matches against both men in this match!
MW: For once, I agree with you…
Saturn finally goes forward to swing, but as he does so Jameson ducks the hit and hits Saturn with a leg-sweep! Saturn falls to the mat, dropping the light tubes, and Jameson quickly-and angrily-hits a perfect Lights-Out Suplex on Saturn, sending him headfirst into the steel chair! Saturn slumps down in the corner, blood pouring from an open wound in his forehead. Jameson isn’t done quite yet, and he rushes to the corner, stomping Saturn down and keeping him there before executing a Chaos Theory on Saturn and sending him BACK INTO THE THUMBTACKS! Jameson looks to go for the pin, but he stops, noting that Saturn isn’t moving, and a vile look crosses his face. He collects the garbage can from earlier, setting it down next to Saturn, and going to lift the other man onto his shoulders.
MW: What the hell’s he going to do now?
SD: I think we all know what’s coming…
Saturn regains some fight, and struggles, causing Jameson to drop him once again, but the damage to his head is too much and he stumbles once again, allowing Jameson to regain control. Jameson fights against Saturn’s movements, and drives him violently, headfirst, INTO THE GARBAGE CAN WITH A HELLHAMMER! SATURN IS DEAD STILL IN THE RING, AND JAMESON GOES FOR THE PIN!
ONE!
TWO!!
THREE!!!
The bell rings, and Nick Jameson is declared the winner. Jameson tears his title away from the referee, and makes a V-symbol with one hand and sticks his tongue through it as he holds his title up with the other. Jeremiah Johnson emerges on the ramp and comes down to the ring to congratulate Jameson, holding his arm aloft.
SD: Another dominant display from one of the most dominant champions in Freedom Pro Wrestling-and what a show it was! James Saturn may’ve been brave to come out here and challenge Nick Jameson, but he was no challenge for America’s Pro Wrestler.
MW: One should be worried about Saturn’s state after the match. Perhaps it would’ve been smarter for him to just stay out of it…
Jameson looks back to Saturn, and drops the title for a moment, going and setting up the table he’d brought into the ring earlier. As he does, Johnson hits him with three hard headbutts and a DD-214 for good measure. Jameson mocks Saturn’s earlier shaky movements, before picking the other man up and PUTTING HIM STRAIGHT THROUGH THE TABLE WITH ANOTHER STIGMATA BOMB! Saturn stays still in the bed of the broken table, and Jameson mouths the words ‘don’t ever fuck with me again’ before collecting his belt and leaving the ring with Johnson, rolling out from under the bottom rope...
Backstage, Dasha Banks runs to catch up with Davis Reynolds.
DB: Davis… Davis… Can I get an explanation for your actions tonight?
Reynolds continues to walk.
DB: Davis… why did you attack your partner? Your friend?
Reynolds continues to walk, leaving Dasha unable to keep up. Jim Houston walks up to Dasha.
DB: Jim… can I get your thoughts on the break up of Anarchy earlier tonight?
JH: Well I think it's safe to say that this weekend has been an interesting one. There are a lot of repercussions that I need to think about in terms of matches for our next show and what we're going to do to ensure that we don't have this speight of attacks continuing.
DB: Do you have any updates on Graham Baker?
JH: He's been taken into hospital as a precaution. He doesn't seem to have any serious injuries. I'd think he and James Saturn will certainly be ready for out next show. And I must say, that's a team I'd be very interested in watching.
Match 5: Azazel and Davey Jones v Bobby O and Jack Sevren:
MW: Here we are, then.
SD: This match may be a little lost amongst all of the chaos of this weekend, but it's the biggest match we've got here, and the stakes are high.
MW: Indeed they are. The winning team in this one get a guaranteed title shot against The Invaders at the biggest show of the year.
SD: Jack Sevren and Bobby O have had to fight hard to get here, and it doesn't get any easier now. Azazel remains unbeaten in FPW and we all know how dominant Davey Jones is.
MW: Azazel and Davey definitely go in as the favourites in this one, although I can't be sure which way the fans will go.
SD: They'll go with whoever wins. You know how fickle they can be.
‘Shattered Skies’ begins to play and Jack Sevren walks out onto the ramp. The fans again give a mixed reaction, although there are more cheers than there were in either of the previous two matches. He walks down to the ring with a slight awkwardness and doesnt interact with the fans much, instead his face shows a complete focus on the task at hand. He climbs into the ring and only then pumps up the fans, which is met with cheers from the majority of fans.
‘This Means War’ plays for about 15 seconds before the music pauses and then Bobby walks out wearing a military style jacket. His movements are more awkward than Jack’s after the beating he took from Jameson and Johnson in the opener. He pops his collar and then walks to the ring at a steady pace, high fiving fans on the way. Bobby enters the ring via the steel steps. When he gets in the ring, he grabs the ropes and leans over them, looking towards the crowd and pointing and smiling. He turns to Sevren and offers his fist, which Sevren bumps. The two exchange quiet words.
MW: Both men look extremely focussed on this match.
SD: Both men look ready for a long bath before bedtime. They're beaten up and about to face the most dangerous duo possible.
MW: Of course, they do both know Davey Jones very well, although Azazel is more of a mystery to them.
SD: He's a mystery to us all.
‘Hell’s Bells’ begins as Davey Jones walks out onto the ramp. He raises his arms before walking purposefully down the ramp. The fans cheer but he doesn't really acknowledge them, instead keeping his gaze on Bobby and Jack in the ring. He climbs the steps and then steps over the top rope, raising his arms again to big cheers from the fans. He then moves threateningly towards Bobby and Jack, who back away, before he steps aside and waits for his partner.
MW: There's history between those three, and not just with Davey Jones. This match is big for all of them, even more so because of who they're facing.
SD: But this is a man without much history with Jack and Bobby. He could be the difference maker in this one, much like he has been with the rest of the FPW roster.
There's a total blackout of the lights as the intro to ‘Martyr’ plays. Azazel appears on ramp with a burning torch. He moves slowly down the ramp, keeping his head bowed and not acknowledging any of the fans. He climbs the steps and enters the ring, placing the torch on a turnbuckle while sitting in the same corner, under the light if the torch. He sits there for a short time before the lights come up and the torch is removed by a ringhand. He and Davey exchange a nod and then Davey exits the ring, leaving Azazel and Jack Sevren ready to begin the match.
MW: The final of the first ever Freedom Pro Wrestling All Star Tag Team Classic.
SD: This ought to be good!
Sevren circles Azazel, who barely seems to move but ensures he never shows his back to Sevren, as the fans begin a duelling ‘Let's go Sevren’, ‘A-za-zel’ chant. The chant continues as they continue to circle one another, before they begin to feel each other out with their hands. They briefly link fingers but Sevren lets go, trying to shoot around the back of Azazel but Azazel aims a kick at his head. Sevren ducks and rolls away into his corner as Azazel sits down in the middle of the ring with a sick smile on his face.
Bobby and Sevren exchange a few words before Sevren goes back to Azazel, aiming a kick at the still-seated opponent, but Azazel drops to his back and then kips up, blocking an attempted right hand and kicking Sevren in the back of the leg before hitting him with a hard knee strike to the face. Sevren staggers backwards and Azazel pounces, pulling him in for an exploder suplex. Azazel makes an early cover, 1-no. Sevren kicks out at one and quickly scrambles to his feet, staring down Azazel, who looks at him with eerie calmness. Sevren backs away into he corner and tags in Bobby, who enters and begins to circle Azazel himself.
The two lock up, Bobby gaining the advantage with a headlock before taking Azazel over, but Azazel gets a headscissors to break the hold. The two men quickly get to their feet and Azazel runs at Bobby, who steps aside and sends him into the ropes. Bobby aims a clothesline at Azazel but Azazel ducks, continuing his momentum and leaping onto the second rope, jumping off for a crossbody onto Bobby, who counters with a perfect power slam.
MW: What a counter!
SD: That could be the end of the match right there.
MW: Bobby with the cover, 1-2-no! Azazel managers to kick out.
SD: But Azazel’s in trouble here.
Bobby stomps hard on Azazel’s back before pulling him up and lifting him into a fireman’s carry position. Azazel elbows his way free and drops down to the mat, aiming a kick at Bobby’s head. Bobby ducks and lifts him again into the fireman’s carry position, this time bringing him down into a stunner. Azazel backs away into the corner and Bobby runs at him, hitting him with a dropkick. Azazel remains on his feet so Bobby backs away and hits another running dropkick which sends Azazel to the mat. Bobby then climbs up to the top rope.
MW: We don't see this very often from Bobby O.
SD: He knows he's got to pull off all the stops to beat Azazel in this match.
MW: It's a big risk…
Bobby waits for Azazel to get to his feet and aims a diving clothesline at him, but Azazel manages to connect with a roundhouse kick to take Bobby out in mid-air. The fans stand and applaud as Azazel backs away to his corner and tags in Davey Jones. Davey immediately goes for a cover on Bobby, 1-2-no! Bobby just manages to get a shoulder up. Davey doesn't give him time to recover, hooking an arm over his head and pulling him up for a vertical suplex. He holds Bobby in position for a few seconds before driving him back first into the mat. He goes for another cover, 1-2-no. Again Bobby kicks out.
MW: Bobby O could be in a bit of trouble now.
SD: A bit of trouble? He has the lunatic picking him apart and little hope of making a tag. I'd say he's in a lot of trouble.
Davey again pulls Bobby up, looking for a second suplex, but Bobby hits forearm shots to the stomach of Davey, causing him to back away. Bobby then runs at Davey, looking for a clothesline, but Davey just staggers before coming back with a big boot. Bobby lies flat on the canvas and Davey drops leg across his neck, again going for a cover, 1-2-no. Bobby gets a shoulder up once more. Davey looks down at him and drags him across to the corner, tagging in Azazel, who comes in and kicks Bobby hard in the back.
Bobby tries to get to his feet but he's met with another hard kick and then another. Azazel looks to pick him up for a deadlift German suplex, but Bobby gets his feet in the ground and elbows his way out, sending Azazel reeling backwards. Bobby hits a desperation superkick and both men lie on the canvas, but they're much closer to Azazel’s corner than Bobby’s. Bobby slaps the mat and the fans begin a rhythmic clap as he tries to crawl across the ring, but Azazel makes a Tag before Bobby can reach his corner, leading to Davey coming in and dragging him away from the outstretched hand of Jack Sevren.
Davey holds Bobby by the leg but Bobby goes for an enzeguiri. Davey however anticipates the move and pops Bobby’s other leg up, catching him on his shoulders and bringing him down with a thunderous powerbomb. Davey goes for a cover, 1-2-no. Sevren comes in to break the pin attempt.
MW: Davey Jones almost had the tournament won there.
SD: He did have it won. But Jack Sevren will do whatever it takes to win a match, including bending the rules when he has to.
MW: That was a bit more than bending them I think.
Davey stands and runs at Sevren, who slides out of the ring. With Davey momentarily distracted, Bobby manages to climb to his feet and hit a second superkick, sending Davey staggering back into a neutral corner. Bobby runs at him and hits another corner dropkick, sending Davey dropping to the mat as Bobby scrambles towards his partner. Sevren makes the Tag and comes in hard with kicks on Davey Jones. Davey manages to make it to his feet in the corner, but Sevren launches into him with hard chops before wrapping Davey’s left arm around the top rope and wrenching on it hard. The official’s count reaches four before Sevren breaks his grip. Davey comes staggering out of the corner and Sevren takes him down with a dropkick before dropping him knee on Davey's arm over and over again.
MW: An interesting strategy from Sevren here.
SD: If Davey’s arm is injured he can't hit Psychosis. It's a sound strategy.
MW: But will it lead to victory for Jack and Bobby?
Sevren locks in an arm bar on Davey, who calls out in pain, but manages to power his way up to his knees. Sevren breaks the hold, aiming a kick at Davey’s arm, but Davey blocks it with his right hand, which catches Sevren around the throat. He lifts Sevren for a chokeslam but Sevren blocks it with a thumb to the eye, earning scorn from the official. Sevren then catches Davey in a waistlock and goes for a German suplex, but Davey keeps his feet planted and Sevren is forced to break his grip, instead tagging in Bobby. Bobby runs at Davey with an attempted clothesline which staggers him, before running at him with another, staggering him again. He goes for a third but Davey staggers back far enough for Azazel to make the blind tag. Bobby connects with the clothesline to send Davey to the mat, but he's met with a spin kick to the gut and a Saito suplex from Azazel.
Jack Sevren enters the ring but he's hit with a quick kick to the gut and a deadlift German which causes him to roll out of the ring. Azazel then lifts the legs of Bobby and catapults him right into Davey, who stands in the corner. Davey uses Bobby’s momentum to fling him over the top rope and he lands hard next to Sevren. As the two men begin to get to their feet, Azazel climbs through the ropes and leaps onto the top rope, and then even higher onto Davey’s shoulders, hitting a moonsault to both men on the outside.
MW: What amazing athleticism from Azazel!
SD: He moonsaulted off his partner’s shoulders to the outside! I've never seen anything like that before!
MW: And now Davey Jones is the only man standing.
Davey looks to the outside as the fans begin to cheer. He begins to climb the turnbuckles, reaching the top turnbuckle just as the three men make it to their feet. They turn just as Davey leaps off the top rope, coming down with a double axe handle which takes out Sevren and Bobby. Azazel, having rolled away, immediately lifts up Bobby O and tosses him back into the ring. He slides in after him and stalks him, waiting for him to make it to his feet.
MW: The Night! The Night!
SD: We have our winners!
Azazel connects with The Night right to the skull of Bobby and makes an immediate cover, hooking both legs, 1-2-no! Bobby somehow managed to get his foot onto the bottom rope. For once, Azazel breaks his calm exterior as he looks down at Bobby with disbelief. Bobby lies almost motionless as Azazel looks towards the ropes, leaping up to the top rope and looking for another springboard moonsault, but he's met with a hard forearm by a recovered Jack Sevren. Sevren climbs back onto the apron and reaches down to Tag his partner, entering the ring and quickly pulling Azazel up for a tombstone piledriver.
MW: Tombstone!
SD: We rarely see this from Sevren. If he connects with this, we know this one is over.
Sevren gets Azazel into position and doesn't wait to drop him directly on his head. He makes a cover, 1-2-no! Davey Jones barely breaks up the count. Davey pulls Sevren up and gets him onto his shoulders, but Sevren manages to fight free of Psychosis. He drops to the mat and pulls Davey in, somehow managing to lift him and bring him down with a German suplex. Sevren stands and gives a look of intensity, calling for Bobby, who enters the ring and stalks Davey. Davey pulls himself up using the ropes and Bobby connects with an RKO. Davey drops to the mat and rolls to the outside. Sevren and Bobby turn to see Azazel getting to his feet. Bobby stalks him, looking for a second RKO, but Azazel pushes him away into Sevren. Azazel then aims a kick at Bobby, who ducks, and it connects with Sevren. Bobby then goes for an RKO again but Azazel holds onto the ropes and Bobby crashes to the mat. Azazel runs at him and connects once again with The Night.
MW: It's over!
SD: But Bobby isn't the legal man. Sevren is, and he's on his feet.
MW: Azazel doesn't see him yet!
Azazel turns and Sevren kicks him in the gut, lifting him for another tombstone. Just as he gets him into position, Davey makes it back into the ring and lifts Sevren from behind, who maintains his grip on Azazel. As Davey connects with a German suplex of his own, Azazel lands on his feet. Davey then pulls Sevren up and Azazel points at him, runs at and…
MW: Sevren ducked!
SD: Azazel hit The Night on his own partner. They had this match won before that huge mistake.
MW: Can Sevren and Bobby capitalise?
Davey rolls away to his corner and Sevren and Bobby aim strikes at Azazel. Azazel fights Sevren off with a kick to the leg but Bobby capitalises and hits another RKO. Sevren then quickly locks in the Figure Four and Azazel writhes in pain. Davey tries to get into the ring but Bobby runs across to block him off, hitting him with straight right hands which send him into the corner. With Azazel looking close to tapping out, Bobby backs away from Davey and runs at him, launching himself at Davey with a dropkick, but Davey catches him on his shoulders and delivers a second thunderous powerbomb, this time sending Bobby crashing into his partner and causing the hold to be broken. Davey pulls Azazel back to their corner and climbs out of the ring, tagging himself in before climbing to the top rope. He waits for Sevren to recover and comes down with a double axe handle to send Sevren to the mat.
Davey then wastes no time in pulling Sevren to his feet, lifting him onto his shoulders and delivering a hard Psychosis. He rolls into a cover, 1-2-no! Sevren somehow managed to kick out. The fans give a standing ovation as Davey looks on at Sevren with shock on his face. Sevren tries to sprawl back towards his corner but Davey grabs him by the hair and pulls him to his feet. He lifts him onto his shoulders again but Sevren slides off, shoving Davey forward and straight into an RKO!
MW: That's got to be it.
SD: I don't know. These guys seem to be giving it everything they have. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a lot more to come in this match.
As Sevren goes for the cover, Azazel enters the ring and aims a kick at him. He ducks and Bobby connects with another RKO, but Sevren immediately pulls Azazel up into a tombstone, which he hits.
SD: RKO and a tombstone? He's not getting up from that.
MW: But Azazel isn't legal. They need to get the pin on Davey.
Davey struggles to make it to his feet as Jack and Bobby turn towards him. They look at each other and nod, running at Davey and driving him into the corner. They hit a double dropkick and Davey slumps, but they don't let him fall, instead they work together to lift him up onto the top rope. Jack and Bobby each climb the ropes and hook their arms over Davey’s head.
MW: There's no way they can do this!
SD: This would break the ring. Or the entire building!
With a great deal of effort, Jack and Bobby manage to hit the superplex to Davey, but they don't go for the cover. Instead, Bobby transitions into the Anaconda Vice while Sevren quickly locks in the Figure Four. Davey cries out in pain but Azazel is nowhere to be seen and he has nowhere to go. A loud ‘tap, tap, tap’ chant begins and Davey, after a few seconds, taps out.
MW: That's it! They've done it! Jack Sevren and Bobby O are the FPW All Star Tag Team Classic winners.
SD: And what a way to do it. They made the lunatic himself tap out.
Jack and Bobby stand and have their arms raised before sharing a look. The fans stand and applaud incredibly loudly, with not a single boo to be heard. After a few moments, Jack and Bobby embrace and hold each other’s arms aloft, celebrating a huge victory.
MW: That may have been the best tag team match I've ever seen. The heart and the passion on display from all four men was absolutely incredible. The will to win was unparalleled. And now Jack Sevren and Bobby O will get their chance at the FPW Tag Team Titles and, perhaps just as importantly, revenge for the attack they suffered at the hand of The Invaders at The Temple of Doom.
SD: What a match that'll be. What a match this one was!
MW: That's all we have time for tonight, folks. We'll see you very soon here on the FPW Network.
