Well hello to everyone out there! How exciting is this? A new e-fed! AND we don't need to type in a whole bunch of html code to change the font color. That's a step up from my old posting on Angelfire days! As I type this a guy in the library is farting so bad that it's making it hard to breathe. Hopefully we'll all have a grand time here! I play as Jeremiah Johnson, a new addition to my lengthy E-Fed characters.
I'd like to get the ball started and get to know everyone. 1. Who's your favorite wrestler of all time? 2. What's your favorite promotion? 3. How did you find the song for your character?
1. My favorite wrestler of all time would have to be (and this is a hard one)... Chris Jericho. From his ridiculous in ring charisma; to his small fights outside of the ring with Brock Lesnar and Goldberg; to his weird hairband, Fozzy; I just admire all of Chris' work. He's found a way to beat the system and lengthen his wrestling career considerably. Jericho shows up, makes a title relevant, has some fun, then gets out before his body is too torn up.
2. My favorite promotion is New Japan Pro Wrestling (at the moment at least). These guys are doing incredible things and putting on some of the best matches. Out of the red and blue brands though, it has always been Smackdown. I remember that my mom would have to go out on Thursday nights, leaving me to watch my younger brother. We'd order a pizza and watch Smackdown...But as a more knowledgeable wrestling fan now, and someone who's trained in MMA and Luchadore style wrestling, I have to take my hat off to the guys in NJPW. Maybe it's because I'm just getting into it, but the stiff shots the people take in that ring give a sense of realism that you just don't get in WWE.
3. To find my song was a challenge. I wanted to use something like "Gonna Fly Now," from the Rocky movies, but nothing really came about as a wrestling entrance theme. As much as I really liked Creed, the workout theme just didn't have that punch. Southpaw was another movie I checked out, but Eminem's song in that one was really bare. I went through several mixes and playlists, I think I almost quit looking when I was looking up remixed versions of Katy Perry songs (almost used ET) until I clicked on a Roy Jones song; which lead to another click and so on, until I found these remixed versions of 2Pac songs that were set over inspiring compilations. The Rocky intro at the beginning was pretty ironic! Hopefully it will become iconic here!

1. Will Ospreay, I love his fast paced style and if anything prefer as little realism in my wrestling as physically possible.
2. Progress Wrestling as long form storytelling is absolutely my shit and nothing says long form storytelling than a nearly 3 year heel title reign.
3. I really like the Foo Fighters and think that The Feast and The Famine makes a good entrance theme.

Well those are good questions. For me:
1. Roddy Piper. Without him (and Mr.T, and Cyndi Lauper) there would have been no Wrestlemania. (Your mileage may vary) 2. WCW/NW circa 1989 was the apex of my wrestling enjoyment. 3. I wanted something a particularly ridiculous Bond villain would play while explaining his elaborate plan to Mr. Bond.

Hi, everyone! Happy to see some new faces! I've done a couple of previous Feds as Jerry Bishop with Commissioner Pizza Ant (Em) and Clutch McCloud (Dave), and we've had a lot of fun doing those together! Looking forward to working with all of you and getting our characters going!
I've heard on the Reddit thread that we have one or two first-timers joining us? Hooray! We hope you have fun with this experience, and you should be able to get the hang of things after about the first round of promos. If you have any questions, feel free to ask either in here or directly, I'd be happy to help!
Now to answer the questions:
1- No doubt, Y2J, BAYBAY! Jericho is unbelievably talented, he has a great mind for the business and how to stay relevant, he has reinvented his character so many times and it works so well. Plus, his accomplishments outside the ring are pretty cool too. And a big point for me, he seems like a genuine and humble guy.
2- I only really know WWE and some WCW stuff from the Network collections, but I'm working my way through Lucha Underground on Netflix, and the style is really engaging. Striker's great on commentary for my money, and I dig John Morrison in general.
3- I had heard the song while looking for "fun" classical music to use for theme songs in general. I wanted to use something bouncy and cartoony, since Jerry is pretty cartoony himself. When the opportunity came up to use it for a character, I knew I had something that would work.

Hey I'm your friendly neighborhood booker/boss! My names Emma (I prefer Em tho). This is my first time running an e-fed, but I've been in two other e-Feds before.
I hope to get a promo introduction thread up tomorrow, along with the schedule.
Now for the questions:
1. Going along with the consensus and saying Chris Jericho. He's so charismatic and captivating along with being a fantastic wrestler.
2. I love NJPW. Their product is amazing and pretty much untouchable at this point.

Sup folks. I'm the Anti-Hero, Azazel, for this e-fed. Technically, this is my first time playing one. I'm more of a fantasy booker but it's becoming a bit dull these days so I'm trying out new fads.
1) Favorite wrestler has to be the Undertaker. His longevity, the aura and mystique he kept around his act for years and the classics he put up in the ring just sets him apart. A significant figure in my childhood, without a doubt.
2) Favorite promotion is NJPW. The in-ring storytelling and the focus on the nitty gritties of matches definitely does it for me.
3) As for the theme, that's influenced by anime. Since my character is a dark rogue vagabond with inhumane abilities, better to use the theme song of another character with a similar background, eh?

Hey, I'm Connor. The handler of Justice Legal, I'm a 20 year old Canadian.
1. Triple H has to be my favorite wrestler of all time, just in front of Razor Ramon. 2. New Japan and Insane Championship Wrestling. Love the story telling in NJ, love the atmosphere in ICW. 3. Found my entrance theme by listening to Drew Galloway's WCPW and ICW Theme song.

This is my first real E-Fed, and I'm pretty stoked. Anyways, for the questions...
1. Without a doubt, my favorite wrestler is Pentagon Jr./Dark/Penta El Zero. I love his technical, brawling style and his matches always invokes so much emotion from me.
2. My favorite promotion has to be Lucha Underground, for obvious reasons.
3. I found my theme song by searching Azrael on Youtube and listening to a few songs until I found one that I liked.

All time favourite is tough... as a kid I loved Jeff Hardy, so he's thereabouts, but I'd probably say Shawn Michaels for how consistently he performed at such a high level. Guys like Jericho, Edge and Angle aren't too far off either. Give it a few years and I'll probably be able to say Okada, Omega and Naito as well!
Favourite promotion has to be New Japan. I started paying attention to it around Dominion last year then followed the G1. A year later and I'm totally hooked. I also follow NXT very closely, watch the WWE PPVs (and am off to Summerslam weekend across the pond next week) and a few British promotions, but not as closely as I'd like.

I like how everyone's using the colored fonts for their promos and such, even though we don't need to.

I like how everyone's using the colored fonts for their promos and such, even though we don't need to. Better aesthetics just help in making them a bit more readable, imo. It definitely is a nice touch, I guess.

Always loved the heels, though 2. If it's wrestling, and it puts on a good show, I'm all for it. I watch primarily WWE, but I'll watch anything, tbh... Well, except for TNA/Impact/GFW or whatever it is now... That just needs to die 3. I chose the song for my guy to counter the persona. That way, when he goes face, he'll seem mellow, but as a heel, it may psych out the opponent some, into a false sense of security.

Hey! ^^ One half of Sound and Fury here! Specifically Sound!
Well. Me and ColonelPhilip only started watching wrestling recently. I'm a fan of Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens!
I have no real idea what MY favorite promotion is actually.
For how I picked the entrance music. I picked it up from a channel I go to for music called Montage Rock. It was just sifting through for a song I thought fit with the team!

Necroposting on this topic, but I wanted to introduce myself and I like the format.
My name is Joe, I'm 29 years old and from Ohio, United States. I found this group aimlessly searching for a new e-fed to join on Reddit that didn't require me to write a novel every time I wanted to cut a promo. I've been doing this since I was 12, back in 2001. The last few years I've mostly been doing fantasy booking/writing, but I've been in a lot of feds, from RoughKut to NeWA and spent a lot of time on the GameWinners.com forums winning titles with that group, which eventually disbanded. I guess I'm looking for a new group to get acquainted with and have some fun creating stories with, and hopefully not stink up the joint with my so-called roleplaying "skills". It seems like at least some of you have been running together for awhile, which is cool. I'm interested to know how long everybody has been doing this, as I suppose I might be the only one who has a near 17 year career of pretending to fight other people and smack talking to win fake belts.
I'll go ahead and answer the three questions posed to me in the OP's post:
1. Man, this is a tough one. I grew up really liking The Rock and Buff Bagwell, as I liked their over the top personas. I always appreciated the work of guys like Benoit, Finlay and Booker T on WCW's undercard, though. I really liked Raven from a storytelling perspective, and his promos were pretty well done. I guess my favorite wrestler of all time would probably be CM Punk, though I feel like he shouldn't have incorporated martial arts so much into his gimmick in the WWE, as I preferred him being more of an old school, technical type of wrestler, as he has great storytelling ability in the ring. I really like Jay Lethal, Seth Rollins, and Kevin Owens as well. Stone Cold Steve Austin wasn't one of my favorites growing up, but I've come to appreciate his work so much more, especially his stuff between 1996 and 1999, these days. Brian Pillman may actually be my favorite wrestler of all time, he's right up there with Punk for me. So, I guess CM Punk and Brian Pillman are somewhere in the top 2. I have always found Christopher Daniels to be pretty great and underrated. He should've had a much better run in TNA in the 00's.
2. Well, I really liked a lot of what was going on at the top of the card in Ring of Honor back in 2002-2004. Guys like Homicide, Chris Daniels, AJ Styles, Low Ki, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Bryan Danielson and CM Punk made me fall in love with the promotion, at that point. ECW between 1997 and 2000 had a lot of stuff I liked going on. I liked their gritty storytelling, and they had a lot of heart. I find myself trying to watch old WCW for the nostalgia, but I can't make it too far. I made the mistake of trying to watch an old 1997 In Your House PPV on The Network not long ago as well, but it was hard to watch. Right now, I pretty much watch SmackDown! "religiously". I tried to watch a recent RAW and it fell pretty flat, but I love what they are doing on SD! I'm all-in with the Rusev Day stuff, the Yep! Movement, AJ Styles as champion, Charlotte as champion, Becky Lynch is back, the Fashion Police, Bobby Roode, that's all just great stuff. So, I guess SmackDown! is my favorite promotion. I love Japanese women's wrestling, as well. I go through phases of watching old AJW, JWP, and newer Stardom, etc. I love that Kairi Hojo is actually coming along in NXT and Asuka has become the dominant force in women's wrestling in the WWE Universe.
3. I like all kinds of music. My Spotify recent plays probably stresses out my app, as I don't think it really knows what to put on my Daily Mixes, at this point. Everything from 90's country, current hip hop, post-hardcore, death metal, thrash metal, nu-metal, recent pop, 90's pop, indie pop, folk music, pop punk, emo, whatever, it's all there. I am probably most identified as a metalhead, though, and have been into death metal for about 17 years or so, and I've always liked that song I chose for my character, "Lunatic of God's Creation", a song about the Manson family and how God creates psychopaths. My character is definitely something along those lines, and is very abrasive. He wants to assault your senses and make you feel something. He's based a lot on indie wrestler Chris Dickinson, who I like a lot, but I've taken my own turns with him. I wanted to get rid of the martial arts aspect of his fighting style, as it feels overused these days. Everybody is throwing shoot kicks, superkicks, whatever. I want him to smash people and hurt them in more of an Arn Anderson sort of fashion, with power and menace and focus. The theme, I think, captures that intense focus and vision of destruction.
